Privacy policy

Acqua Noosa (“we”, “us”, “our”) respects your privacy. We handle personal information in accordance with the Australian Privacy Principles under the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth).

What we collect

We only collect information we genuinely need in order to sell you a fragrance and answer your questions:

• When you place an order: your name, email address, delivery address, phone number and order details.
• When you contact us: your email address, and whatever you choose to tell us in your message.
• When you browse the site: basic, aggregated analytics such as pages visited and general location. This is not used to identify you personally.

We do not run a newsletter and we do not collect email addresses for marketing.

We do not collect sensitive information, and we do not knowingly collect information from children.

Payment details

We never see or store your card details. Payments are processed by our checkout provider, Snipcart, and its payment processor. Your card information is entered directly into their secure, PCI-compliant systems and is never transmitted to us or stored on this website.

Why we collect it

We use your personal information to:

• process, pack and deliver your order;
• contact you about your order if something needs sorting out;
• respond to enquiries you send us;
• meet our record-keeping obligations under Australian tax and consumer law.

We do not sell, rent or trade your personal information to anybody. Ever.

Who we share it with

We share only what is necessary, only with organisations that help us run the business:

• Snipcart — cart, checkout and payment processing.
• Our courier — your name, delivery address and phone number, so your order can be delivered.
• Cloudflare — hosting and delivery of this website.

Some of these providers store data on servers outside Australia. Where that happens, we take reasonable steps to ensure your information is handled consistently with the Australian Privacy Principles.

We may also disclose information where we are required to do so by law.

Cookies

This site uses a small number of cookies. Some are strictly necessary to keep your shopping cart working between pages. Others help us understand, in aggregate, how the site is used. You can block or delete cookies through your browser settings, though the cart may not work correctly if you block the necessary ones.

How long we keep it

We keep order records for seven years, as required by Australian tax law. Contact enquiries are kept only as long as we need them to help you.

Keeping it secure

We take reasonable steps to protect your personal information from misuse, loss, and unauthorised access or disclosure. No method of transmission over the internet is completely secure, but we use reputable providers and encrypted connections throughout.

Your rights

You can ask us to:

• give you a copy of the personal information we hold about you;
• correct anything that is wrong or out of date;
• delete your information, where we are not legally required to keep it.

Complaints

If you believe we have mishandled your personal information, please contact us first at hello@acquanoosa.com.au so we can try to put it right. If you are not satisfied with our response, you can lodge a complaint with the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner at oaic.gov.au.
